What’s in store?

2025 has arrived and Go Godly is pushing forward into raising funds to launch. Naturally, our bank was sold and there was a hiccup with the bank transition because that is what happens. Hysterically, more in the frustrating sense than the very funny one, this is now the 3rd time my bank has been sold. Not the same bank, but what are the odds of 3 different banks changing hands over a few years time? Apparently far higher than imagined. So, our GiveSendGo launch is delayed a week or so, but it’s ready. YAY.

Meanwhile back at the office, much has transpired. This is nice as for a bit, little transpired. I take full ownership of that because I am the owner and the only possible person to blame. 🙂 The reality of this mammoth project is just that. It is huge. Therefore, me being human gets in my head. This is ridiculous as the past 3 years, I have been fully aware that God is in control and I’m merely the typist. Still, my human desire to leap ahead and tackle this and that is not helpful in this project. The reality of a Godly purpose is God doesn’t need us. He chooses to utilize us, but we must be malleable to His plans and not concerned about our own. This full surrender to His will over my own. Full disclosure, my will is a troublemaker.

I’m very grateful for God’s grace. I’d have smacked me by now. So, this little tug of war – can you imagine how that would play out if it was literal? Has made things more difficult because I couldn’t wrap my brain around the complexity of taking the base curriculum which was initially created like an online bible school with pdfs and crafts and activities you could do at home, and converting them into a full fledged online video game. The task, when my brain mulled it over, was mind blowing. I felt completely defeated in my own inadequacy to the task. I needed to review over 300 individual award adventures and answer all the questions, convert all the answers into drop downs, fill in the blanks, etc. I had to figure out all the game level adventure areas, how they will look, what the game play will involved, and so many other little ins and outs. Plus this is all animated with art and programming and game mapping, and as I’ve stated previously my paltry background in Pong and Centipede hardly is helpful. So, God must of found my gnashing of teeth and head banging and avoiding it altogether entertaining.

Over the past several months, my pastor – who is also my son – has preached almost redundantly on sacrifice, submission, letting go and letting God. I listened and would try and would fail because just listening isn’t the same as comprehending. And thinking you are submitted when you still are trying to figure it out isn’t submitted. So, I stopped. Took a deep breath. And prayed.

I don’t know about you guys, but when God gives me direction He is short, sweet and to the point. I got two things. FINISH and DO IT.

When I pointed out that doing it was the trouble. I didn’t know how. I got “need to know basis”. Which means I don’t need to know to do. That may sound crazy, but the fact is – I actually do know that is true. At the start of this journey and when I wrote “Glimmer of Hope”. I sat. I typed and all of it poured out of me. I certainly didn’t know – I just let God pour it out. Even when I created the business plan for Go Godly, all my friends were stunned that I put it together by myself. I didn’t do any of it by myself. The thing is about so much of this, is not that I’m not capable or that I’m without talent. I have many talents and skills and 30 years of business and finance experience. What I don’t have is everything one might need to do this, and that is my biggest qualification for the job.

Think about all the people God uses. Gideon that mighty warrior hiding in a winepress. Moses the guy with a speech impediment who had to speak to all those who God freed from slavery in Egypt and the Pharaoh too. Joseph who was abused by his brothers, sold into slavery, jailed wrongly, and became the 2nd in power in Egypt. God uses unlikely people all the time. It makes sense. No one cares much what I do. I’m not famous, powerful, or important. But, when the world sees “good old what’s her name” doing amazing things in a company and creating a web based gaming community with outstanding Christian curriculum woven throughout, that is fun and engaging kids and creating an evangelistic movement, too. Suddenly, everyone wants to know who I am and how I did it. And when I say, I didn’t – God did, well that is a conversation more people than ever need to hear.

So, now that I’m doing and finishing, the tide has turned and I’m out of God’s way again. In just a few days, so much has been completed. Keep us in prayer. Next step is financial provision, employees, and product lines. Well, there a few thousand steps before we hit those milestones, but I’m hoping we hit them before the year ends.

Oh, and from what I have seen in the last few days. This is epic!! Mind blown again! God is so, so, so, so GOOD!!
