That nasty old evil guy tries to thwart you at every pass.

So, I have been diligently working to get a few of our children’s books published and available through Amazon. I’ve used their KDP service before without too much complication when I published my first book “A Glimmer of Hope.” Upon going online to work on these I noted that my paperback version of the aforementioned is not there anymore, just a Kindle version. Hmmm. Odd. I need to do some edits so I let that go without much concern and moved forward.

I downloaded four books from our library got them all set and approved. I ordered proofs and made edits. All good. I set them up and pushed the published button. GREAT only 72 hours till they are live.

NOPE! I go in later that week and they are showing up as being in edit mode once more. I did not get a notification from Amazon that there was an issue or something was wrong, so I figured I’m the idiot and probably did something wrong and went through the whole process again for each book. YAY, publish button hit, all looks great. Perfect in 72 hours they will be live on Amazon.

NOPE! Again they show up back in edit mode. Again no notification of an issue or a notation on them or an e-mail. So now, I’m in the why mode. Why? Is it because they are religious books. Hmmm. I hate thinking that way truthfully, but in the world today I have to wonder. After all, there has been a great deal of pushback against Kirk Cameron for his book published through Brave Books – a conservative religious publishing company. And yes, I did look into it, they are not accepting any outside manuscripts presently. UGH.

So, I thought maybe it is just a glitch in the system. The books are kids books, simple elementary school level and cute and nothing controversial at all, certainly my imagination is getting the best of me in these dark difficult times. Let me try again. So, I do. And I again hit publish and again it says congrats that they will be live in 72 hours and again, NOPE!

Now, I should note that all four of these books were published in proof form without any issues at all so what in the world is the deal with this. I’ve considered it is about art, as it is all art used from Canva through their paid usage agreement and I do have permission to use all art in these books for this purpose, and they have not indicated or questioned about the art or copyright permissions.

So plan B, I’m looking at Shopify as they do on demand publishing and another company. We will not be thwarted. Which brings me back to the title. Did you ever notice that when God has you walking out something amazing how that guy that likes to muck up all the good rears his ugly head and starts trouble?? So, something you don’t know about me. I do not use his name nor do I give him credit for bad because I refuse to glorify him in anyway. I just rebuke him and move on with faith and complete confidence that my God is more powerful than anything I come up against. Halleluiah!!

So, books are in the works. Looking at options, prices etc. In other exciting news, we are switching gears to become a 501C non-profit organization. It is in the works right now. Should hopefully be completed by end of week or so. Need to get some stuff in order, but that should help tremendously in our fundraising efforts for the Kingdom!

Lots, happening in the background. I’ll keep you posted on updates soon. Keep us in prayer folks. It must be getting close, because obstacles are popping up. Praising God for each one though because I love it when our amazing work pushes back against darkness. Woo hoo!!
