Not all silence is a result of nothingness. Even in the silence, I’m out here working on things. Not all is very interesting. My day, generally is typing, reading scripture, praying over things, taking notes, typing more and occasionally feeling like I’ve wandered into very deep water and being overwhelmed. But, progress, thought it be slow, is happening. Lately, there has been a shift though, and I think we will have big announcements happening soon.
First things first, because it is really fun and so surprising, we (which means me, myself, and God) have been doing some Ai things to help direct different development designs to help the actual game designers and programmers with understanding vision and to guide me when I’m working out the games within the Kingdom and how the curriculum fits into them. This is far out of my realm of understanding, comfort or the general wheelhouse of knowledge I bring to this party. Remember, I come from a business background that includes finance, management and H.R. This is uncharted territory for me all day long. Sure God, I’m definitely the right person to develop an online gaming community that is in 3D animation, with a Christian educational curriculum throughout. Absolutely! – By the way, never did I say this nor claim it. In fact, I have asked a few times if God was sure he didn’t mean a different Debbi?
Here we are almost five years in and I am still in awe every day of what God has done and what has been created and how very good it is. Now, I know, God is good and all things he creates are good, so I should not be surprised, but when you see the creation pouring out of you personally, in real time, it is astounding. It has reinforced my understanding where David was coming from with all those Psalms. How can you not sing praises to a King who sees who you are, where you have been, mistakes you have made and still works through you to create the most profoundly good things. So, it might come as no surprise that a couple weeks ago, God led me to start working on our Vlog. In doing so, and based on prior YouTube experience, I was aware that when you add music to a video, there can be copyright issues that may or may not affect the distribution of the video to people. So, God laid it on my heart that we should have a little snippet of music to add to all the God Godly videos that was ours alone, and that using ChatGPT, we could do something. So, I wrote a little 4 line poem, put it in ChatGPT and they wrote an entire song and music and chords, but it lacks the technology to create a song with music and singing, however it had a friend that could hook us up. LOL. Yep, it gave me directions on how to copy the info, it shared into another Ai program that for a small fee ($10) would create an actual song with a male or female singer in a style we liked and we could change the words and pick from a variety of versions that the Ai came up with. So while I have some reservations about Ai in general, I have to admit this was great fun. The first few weren’t quite right, so I went in and rewrote the lyrics to better align them to Go Godly and may go in and do that one more time before the final edit, but we have a song and it is soooooo good. Of course, back to all that God creates is good, but I can still be amazed. It is fun and poppy and catchy and Godly, of course. Check it out here!!
And that wasn’t all, because honestly that took less than 2 hours to work out. We have our first Vlog coming out soon. Like next week soon, so check out our channel on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc. I have to get all the sites set up better than they are right now, but we are ready, which is better than the we weren’t ready place I was previously. Our first Vlog will be the story about how it started and who we are and what is coming. The 2nd will be about things specific to the Kingdom and then we will have some word studies, bible studies, Peek-a-boo into what is going on with a curriculum or a design or whatever God wants us to share. So stay tuned.
Next, will be the big changes. We are currently an LLC. This was because a) it was inexpensive and b) It allowed us to have an EIN# and open a bank account. Now, ideally we have always known that we are a non-profit, however non-profits have a lot of very important reporting rules that must be met annually and as a start up in development with a single “employee” namely me, employing a Board of Directors and holding meetings and accounting for the “zero” dollars in income at present and minimal expenses that I have personally incurred for the website and mailbox and supplies, board meetings and reporting and all the other regulations surrounding non-profit status seemed a bit unnecessary. However, this also impeded fund raising and grant writing to get this project funded, but until it was to a place where we were ready to hire and move forward all that was mute too, so the LLC seemed the wisest starting place. But, we will be changing over to a non-profit in the very near future.
There are few things we need to do in the interim to prep for this step. Largely, you can’t take an LLC and just turn it into a non-profit. You have to fold up the LLC and then restart the company as an LLC and that has a lag time, but you can keep the LLC and operate some parts of the company under that part while having the rest be part of the non-profit. So we are finagling the logistics of this and we need to do some trademark searches and get all the ducks in a row, secure all the trademark stuff we need and then we will be ready to go. It seems like an easy thing, and it is – until it isn’t. The thing that hurts company’s fastest is trademark infringement and lawsuits, so that all needs to be sorted and trademarks all cost money too, as is the way of the world. I wish God could give me a bit of clarity on the how when we are not supposed to be like the world, get this created without the world’s currency which, while it may be the root of all evil, is still the requirement to pay for anything we need to do. I understand God will provide and God’s timing is perfect. Truly I do. This doesn’t mean I don’t wonder the how and when of things as I’m moving forward. Sometimes it is like walking a tightrope where you are blindfolded and every step you are not sure there is any rope in front of you. I know blind faith feels that way. Boy do I.
Lastly, as I continue to work on the oldest kids curriculum conversion project, I’m finally finding a little rhythm and the power point I created has been a God send – literally!! Back when Ai first popped up on Canva, and in the midst of my mental meltdown trying to figure out how to choreograph the land that is the Kingdom with seven age levels from a basic award based Q&A type program with some phone type games on it for fun, into a 3D graphic video game that has multiple adventures in multiple lands and quests that are separate for each level and then incorporate the original Q&A format into a game that still retains the educational part while still being engaging and fun to play, God sent me a life raft. He had me go into the Ai part and try it out, which was easy and I came up with great mock up designs for the avatars for the little kid ones and the bigger kid ones. Then God pointed out that this tool could also give me vision boards for every land and all seven areas in each land, so while I’m figuring out the game play, I have an idea of what the land is going to look like and can then lay out how the game play might go within that area.
Now, I’m not a programmer or game designer – well maybe a little now, but certainly not my area of expertise, so God help (and I’m sure He will ) the poor guys who are going to put this together for us. However, this format has helped me to move forward with each adventure. Always starting with the hardest first, but the 11th and 12th grade stuff while taking a long time for each adventure and while the game play may change when the big idea folks get involved, there is now a flow and design and vision for each adventure. Check out our vlogs because I’ll talk about this more there, but finally I see the bigger picture coming into focus beautifully and it is so exciting.
So never take the silence as a sign something is wrong or nothing is happening. Even if I’m just praying God is busy aligning everything perfectly. Stay tuned. More fun coming!! I’m so excited.
